We are excited to be partnering with a leading manufacturer and supplier of steel building products as they seek a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

This is an exciting time to join this growing organisation; the business is expanding and there is consistent investment across the Health & Safety function, with several exciting projects on the horizon.

About the role

Reporting into OHS Manager, the position involves coordinating and implementing OHS workplace programs and projects and implementing the safety management system across a flagship site in Laverton. The Laverton site employs around 150 people and you’ll be working closely with the OHS Manager, operational leaders and employees to drive a positive safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities include: 

• Build strong internal relationships to actively promote best practice in safety.
• Develop safety skills within the leadership team and broader work group, through training, coaching and mentoring.
• Monitor, evaluate and recommend improvements to the SMS.
• Work closely with each site to ensure that corrective actions are closed out in a timely manner.
• Monitor all incidents raises in the safety reporting system and provide coaching and support where required.
• Chair the OHS committee and work closely with HSRs to drive compliance.
• Identify opportunities for improvements (including reduction in costs).

About you
To see you successful in this role you will have experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment and have previous experience in building capability and driving a strong safety culture.

Behaviorally you will have the ability to coach managers and actively assist them in building a safe workplace with a strong safety culture, so a people focus is key. We’re looking for someone that can use their initiative and challenge the status quo.
