Acquainted Talent are partnering with an established building materials manufacturer as they seek a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their growing safety team. Our client has an exceptional reputation across Australia’s eastern seaboard and have seen sustained growth across the past 12 months, as such this is a newly created role to support the growing business.

About the role
Reporting into the Health, Safety and Quality Manager, you’ll be focused on implementing, monitoring and continuously improving the Occupational Health and Safety programs to meet legislative requirements.

This is a hands-on role that will see you engaging with various levels of stakeholders, you will be working across multiple sites in NSW and primarily based out of a main facility located in Sydney’s western suburbs.

Duties include:

  • Work with the Health and Safety team to ensure administration and implementation of WHS matters across various sites
  • Actively participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the WHS Management System to achieve conformance with legislative requirements
  • Collect, process and file relevant documentation of WHS procedures
  • Keeping up with relevant changes and responsibilities to WHS policy and informing employees and management of these changes
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations
  • Undertake WHS risk assessments when necessary
  • Provide WHS inductions for all Employees and visitors as required
  • Participate in all WHS toolbox meetings and conduct tool box meetings with factory staff when required
  • Conducting WHS audits and addressing any needed safety issues to management for review and rectification
  • Present relevant WHS training courses and information sessions as required

About you
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator to work and learn from a dedicated Health and Safety team as well as a committed senior leadership team. You will have either come from a strong Health and Safety administration background or already be working as a Safety Coordinator.

It’s important that you possess strong communication skills, can effectively prioritise your work and can build relationships with stakeholders.
