What safety work looks like in manufacturing
Manufacturing safety is close to the production line. It covers plant and machine guarding, isolation and lockout, hazardous chemicals, forklifts and pedestrians sharing space, manual handling, noise, and shift work, along with the injury management that keeps people connected to work after an injury. Many sites also manage environmental licence conditions and regular customer audits, so the safety team is rarely working on safety alone.
The roles we recruit
We recruit for single sites, multi-site operations, and national businesses, including:
WHS Coordinator
HSE Advisor
HSEQ Advisor
Quality Manager
Site HSE Manager
National HSE Manager
What good looks like in a hire
A Cert IV or Diploma in WHS is a common baseline, and for HSEQ and quality roles, experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 is often expected. The people who do well in manufacturing know their way around a production floor: they understand plant risk, work with engineering and maintenance on practical controls, and talk comfortably with operators on every shift. For site and national manager roles, employers look for someone who can bring consistent standards to every site while respecting how each one actually runs.
The market in Australia
Manufacturing in Australia spans food and beverage, building products, chemicals, metals, and advanced manufacturing, and each brings its own risks and regulations. Regional sites can be harder to recruit for, so it’s worth thinking early about relocation or flexible arrangements for senior roles. Candidates with both hands-on plant experience and strong systems skills are valued, and people often move between manufacturing and logistics, which can widen the field.
If you’re recruiting for a site or national role, Submit a vacancy and we’ll be in touch within one business day, and if you’re looking for manufacturing safety jobs, our current opportunities are a good place to start.
