What safety work looks like in construction
On a construction project, safety work happens on site every day: reviewing safe work method statements for high risk construction work, running inductions and toolbox talks, checking scaffolding, work at height, and traffic management, managing subcontractors, and responding when something goes wrong. Behind that sits the principal contractor’s management system, environmental controls for dust, noise, and erosion, and the injury management that supports anyone hurt on the job.
The roles we recruit
Our construction safety recruitment covers site-based roles through to people overseeing a portfolio of projects, including:
Site Safety Coordinator

What good looks like in a hire
A Cert IV or Diploma in WHS is a common starting point, along with a current general construction induction card and, for some roles, first aid or traffic management qualifications. Genuine site experience matters just as much. Project teams respect safety people who understand the work, can walk a site and see what matters, and know when to stop a job and when to help find a safer way to do it. For project and group roles, experience with principal contractor obligations, larger contractors, and reporting to clients becomes more important.
The market in Australia
Demand for construction safety people follows the project pipeline, and large building and infrastructure programs can draw experienced HSE advisors and managers away from smaller projects. Contract roles for the life of a project are common, and many people move between permanent and contract work. Experienced project HSE managers who can work confidently alongside a project director can be harder to find, so it helps to start early and be realistic about timing.
If you’re recruiting for a project or site, Submit a vacancy and we’ll be in touch within one business day, and if you’re looking for construction safety jobs, our current opportunities are a good place to start.
