This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered by Acquainted Talent (“Acquainted Talent”, “we”, “us”).
Personal information
We are committed to safeguarding personal privacy. We recognise that individuals have a right to control how their personal information is collected and used. Providing personal information is an act of trust, and we take it seriously. Unless you give us consent to do otherwise, we will only collect and use personal information as set out below. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles.
Personal information is any information or opinion (whether true or not) about you. It may range from the very sensitive (for example, remuneration history) to the everyday (for example, your name and contact details). It may include other people’s opinions about you, your work experience, qualifications, or aptitude test results. Sensitive information is only disclosed to nominated parties with your consent.
Collecting personal information
We only collect personal information that you provide to us voluntarily, or that you agree we may collect. This includes information you give us when you:
submit a vacancy, register your interest, or send a general enquiry through a form on our website;
sign up for job alerts or our newsletter;
apply for a role or upload your CV (CVs are uploaded through our recruitment system, Loxo);
speak or correspond with us by phone, email or LinkedIn.
Using and disclosing your personal information
We use personal information to:
assist you in your search for a new role, including by providing your details to potential employers, with your consent;
help employers find suitable candidates for their vacancies;
respond to your enquiries and provide our services;
arrange background or reference checks when a potential employer requests them as part of their process;
send you information you’ve asked for, such as job alerts and newsletters.
To run our website and deliver our services, we use trusted service providers who handle personal information on our behalf, including:
Framer (website hosting and website forms);
Cloudflare (secure processing of website form submissions);
Loxo (our recruitment system, which stores candidate and client records and CVs);
Mailchimp (job alerts and newsletters);
Netra Digital, our website agency, which receives the details of website enquiries to make sure each one is followed up, and keeps them only as long as needed.
Some of these providers store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Use of tracking technologies
We use tracking technologies such as cookies or web beacons, and website analytics, to make the website and our services as convenient as possible and to understand how the site is used. Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to your device for record-keeping purposes. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies, and you can change your browser settings to refuse them. These technologies do not themselves personally identify users, although they do identify a user’s browser.

We may contact you using the information you provide to:
send you information about employment opportunities, or about candidates, that may be of interest to you;
send newsletters and job alerts you have signed up for.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each email, or by contacting us.
Your right to access and correct your information
You have the right to ask for the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it. To do so, contact Amanda at amanda@acquaintedtalent.com.au.
