Many employers want a five-year advisor with ICAM, Cert IV, and site credibility. Here is where they actually are.

For employers

Ask any employer what they need and the answer is the same: a safety advisor with four or five years on site, an ICAM ticket, a Cert IV, and the credibility to stand in front of a crew. That person exists. There just aren’t many of them, and most are not looking.
Where the supply actually sits
The strongest advisors are usually two years into a role they like, working for a manager who invested in them. They will move for the right site, the right scope, and an honest conversation, but not for a job ad. That is why we spend much of our time talking to people who are not applying anywhere.
If you need an advisor this quarter, be ready to move fast, be clear on the site they will own, and be realistic about coordinators who are one step away from being exactly what you want.
Thinking about a hire? We’d be happy to talk it through.
